The new Gouryella single - “Anahera - will be released on June 15th and it has all the hallmarks of classic Gouryella but with a modern twist; uplifting ethereal melodies, rapid arpeggios and brilliant orchestration. The track is nostalgic of oldschool uplifting trance. With so much talk around trance being dead Anahera reminds us it's not . It’s an instant classic, and 2015 could just be the year for trance.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Let’s take it back to 1999 for a moment - a key year for Ferry Corsten and the genesis of both the Gouryella and System F projects. Of his many aliases, System F marks Ferry Corsten’s big break. In February 1999, Ferry released his career-changing track “Out Of The Blue” on the Tsunami imprint as System F. The single is a melodic and powerful twister and turned out to be one of the biggest trance tracks of 1999, achieved a top twenty position in the U.K. single chart, and put Ferry on the world-wide dance map permanently.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> In May 1999, the title “Gouryella” by the act Gouryella was released, an artist-project Ferry produces together with a certain internationally famous Dutch DJ named <b>Tiësto.</b> This partnership also proved to be pivotal to Corsten’s career. The first single “Gouryella” entered the U.K. Singles Top 75 at #15 and achieved top chart positions throughout the world. His feel good remix is  now seeing its re-release on Black Butter. For Good makes this Watermark High's 4th EP to date. The EP can be described as an unflawed slice of downtempo, ambient heaven. Watermark High has a distinctive ability to experiment and fuse together sounds which normally wouldn't fit - this is noticeable through out the EP. The distorted vocal chops akin to his other works gives the EP extra special character. </span><br /> <span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; text-align: justify;"> <i><b><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">“‘For Good’ just made se</span>nse to me, as it refers to ‘permanence’ as well as ‘for the better’ or a sense of positivity, which are both things/themes that applied to my life in general at the time of writing the EP.”</span></b></i></div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div> <div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: inherit;">Written on and off over the course of a year,<b> Watermark High </b>describes the EP as a bit more synth-heavy compared to his previous offerings. It features fewer ‘acoustic’ instruments and samples and is more ‘electronic’ sounding. That makes the music more evocative to me.
