It’s official! Two industry heavyweights, Kid Fonque and Jullian Gomes have teamed up to establish a brand new record label that they’ve called Stay True Sounds.</div>

Combining their industry experience and skills, the establishment of Stay True Sounds can be seen as the natural progression of a concrete working relationship that’s been built over several years. </div>

When talking about Stay True Sounds, the pair battle to contain their excitement. “Each of us brings something different to the table” explains Gomes, “creating a label together really feels like the next logical step. It’s the right time to do our own thing and not feel limited by anything. Locally I couldn’t imagine doing it with anyone else.”</div>

Frequent collaborators, Kid Fonque played a pivotal role in launching Jullian Gomes' career in his previous role as label manager of iconic imprint Soul Candi Records.  At the time Gomes was releasing with his cousin Michael G as G.Family, and their album Deep House Chronicles Vol.6 - Break the Silence was nominated in the category Best Dance Album at the 2011 SAMAs.</div>

Gomes went on to release the award-winning anthem “Love Song 28” as a solo artist on Soul Candi and worked closely with Kid Fonque on the popular music video. The track proved to be career landmark and global recognition for Gomes followed.</div>

The announcement of the new label follows several months of discussions and planning. Fans can look forward to Jullian Gomes’ debut solo album and a collaborative album from Kid Fonque and UK-based producer D-Malice. The label will be releasing material from Cuebur, Bruce Loko, Melo B Jones and Black Widow however the pair are keeping the label’s other signings hush-hush for the time being. “We are picking up singles, but it’s all for next year” explains Fonque. </div>

Anyone who has spent a moderate amount of time on dancefloors in South Africa will be familiar with these accomplished industry players. DJ turned producer Kid Fonque is one of the scene’s most enduring and respected figures. He builds on a productive career in the industry that spans two decades - working his way from the ground up in CD stores before moving into distribution then assuming the lead at the iconic Soul Candi Records. His deep understanding of the industry’s inner-workings will be crucial to the label’s operations. </div>

A masterful DJ who can melt house, hip hop, broken beats and bass together, Kid Fonque is known for his long-running event series. “I have always seen my monthly #2sidesofthebeat events as a platform to showcase new talent” he says, “and my goal is for Stay True Sounds to do the same thing on a global level.”</div>

Summarising Jullian Gomes’ long list of career achievements is no small task.  One of the most sought-after DJ/producers in the country, a Red Bull Music Academy alumni and a globetrotting DJ whose mesmerising music has taken him all over the globe - including places as far afield as Japan. Hailing from Pretoria, Gomes is now firmly established as one of the new leaders of South Africa’s trending house music industry. His skills in the studio have seen him collaborate with the likes of Atjazz, Osunlade and Black Coffee not to mention having his music signed and released by the world’s most respected house music labels.</div>

The formation of Stay True Sounds signals a new chapter for two dedicated audiophiles and for the local music industry. Gomes and Fonque are hard at work bringing all the elements together for the label’s launch. Local graphic artist Jaco Haasbroek was commissioned to design the label’s logo and Gomes and Fonque have crafted a new track which they’ll be giving away for free. This musical gift is titled ‘Stay True’ in honour of the new label. </div>

Featuring a dynamic combination of artists, DJs and Producers this album is a collector’s must-have. Said industry leaders includes the soulful Lulo Cafe, boundary-breaking Cuebur, LDV-master Harael Salkow, new-comer Tellaman and YFM’s favourite Mo Flava.<br />

Lulo Cafe Metro FM DJ and much-loved producer (especially by the ladies) Lulo Cafe was the first to be announced as a featured artist on Soul Candi Sessions 2015. His compilation is a soulful opener to the album. It is filled with great local production and remixes as well as one of his own songs featuring Bongeziwe thrown into the mix. Songs to look out for on his disc also include Zano - ‘No Lie’ (The Layabouts Remix), Kid FOnque featuring Nia Andrews - ‘What I Do’ and Terri Walker -‘He Loves Me’.<br />

Cuebur the second featured artist is someone who has recently been making waves in the industry with his contribution to Andyboi’s album “Trail Evolution” as well as his most recent release, “The Floor EP”. Harael Salkow, aka Daddy H at Soul Candi HQ, will be featured on the album once again this year and promises an album that maintains the high standards his fans expect as well as the hottest dance tracks from the season. Known for his Sunset Sessions that gets shared with fans weekly, it can be said that only hottest dance tracks from the season will be included. His disc follows his La Dolce Vita theme and some stand out tracks featured are Spiritchaser - ‘Find A Way’. Zhu - ‘Faded’ and Kiesza - ‘Hideaway’. Definitely a party-starter!<br />

New to the scene as well as Sessions is the Durban-based Tellaman. His album is the featured artist album and includes all his own productions and vocals. Known for his drive time show on YFM from 3PM - 7PM as well as being a presenter on Club 808, Mo Flava is no stranger in the music industry and a perfect fit for the Sessions brand. Not only a DJ, his disc includes some of his own productions too where he worked closely with Cocosoul. Other featured artists to look out for on his disc includes Danny K, Nathan Mayor and D-Malice. The fans won’t be disappointed.  Soul Candi Sessions 2015 promises to be one of the hottest Sessions releases to date and its no surprise when you look at the credentials of the artists contributing to it this year. Since then he has released several of his own productions and built his own successful record label, D.M Recordings. His disc on Producers Series Vol. 2 includes over 10 exclusive tracks showcasing him as a both a DJ and Producer while highlighting his passion for Afro-House. As an internationally recognized and highly-regarded producer, this album won't disappoint.<br /><br />The second producer is homegrown and fairly new to the scene. Luka brings a new sound to the table - his experimental and unique sound can only be described as deep tech-soul with a flair of "boundary-breaking". The disc includes dynamic productions laced with excellent vocals - some of which are original versions while others are remixes of Luka's tracks, done by artists such as DJ Tipz and Rancido.<br /><br />Experience and experiments meet in Producers Series Volume 2 to create an unmissable album filled with high quality and hypnotizing productions.</span></div>

always had a keen interest in music. I taught myself the basics of music as a
kid as well as one or 2 instruments, but it was actually by accident that I got
into the DJ scene. A friend of mine had some DJ software on his laptop and I
was playing around with it combining my favourite songs and I just fell inlove.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
