Zoo Brazil is one of many monikers used by the multitalented John Andersson to bring us some of the most innovative music today. He returns to the coveted Size records alongside Per QX to bring us more of the same with ‘Save Us’ out on the 25th of August.
The track’s sultry tone is set from the beginning with erie echoed vocals and light twinkling keys sitting atop a chunky, stripped back beat that drops into the deep descending bass at the centre of the production. Groovy deep house at it’s best that makes you, as the lyrics state, want to ‘push the world aside’ and listen.
US Grammy and BRIT award nominated John Andersson has carved out his place as one of the most forward thinking producers & DJs in the industry, releasing over 140 singles and 8 albums under such aliases as Zoo Brazil, Laid, Dead Cites, Cuba Computers, Nars, The Kelly Project, The Wiggs & Outcold amongst others.
John saw massive success in 2007 co-writing Kylie Minogue’s hit ‘The One’ on her Grammy & BRIT award nominated album ‘X’ that sold over 3 million copies and topped numerous charts worldwide. He also wrote “Zoo Brazil feat Rasmus - There is hope” that notched up an astounding 27 million views in 6 months on youtube in 2011.
His pedigree as a DJ is unquestioned across genres and nations, performing at some of the biggest venues in the world. From Pacha & Space in Ibiza to native Sweden playing alongside Booka Shade, he is a regular on the festival circuit at Tomorrowland in Belgium and Creamfields in Australia.
Recent years have seen releases on Defected, Joris Voorn’s Rejected, Stealth & Get Physical whilst continuing to produce & remix with the industries leading artists such as Lana Del Ray, Moby, Tiesto and Ian Pooley. Now making a return to Steve Angelo’s Size, Zoo Brazil is set to take the summer by storm with this latest instalment.
