Originally by Rui Da Silva & Cass Fox and released in the early 00s the new adaptation by Paul Oakenfold took things in a more chilled direction - but still featuring a completely fresh take of vocals from Cassandra Fox.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> "If ever there was a timeless vocal classic to cover it's "Touch Me" by Rui Da Silva and Cassandra Fox. Originally released in 2001 this was a number 1 hit in numerous countries around the world including the UK top 40. I adore this record. The lyrics and vocals are so perfect that when it came to make the cover version I knew two things had to happen - firstly we had to try and get Cass to re-sing the vocals (part of the rules of making a cover means you can't use any audio from the original composition - everything needs to be remade or replayed) and secondly I wanted this to be a really stripped back almost chill out track so that the vocals had loads of room to breathe and take center stage. I love how this turned out and I was so excited that Cass got really involved when she came in to re-sing her vocals. It's a completely fresh, exciting and emotionally charged take on the original record and I love it. Normal practices would be to either get some supplies in and hit the studio or if it’s a day off head to the pub with friends and just laze the day away. If it’s a Sunday then a roast would definitely be on the cards, when it’s crap outside nothing beats it!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">1.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>We like asking all of our guests this - what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear South Africa? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> I have to be honest a few years back it probably was is the most stereotypical view of SA (Elephants, Lions etc!), I know…I’m a bit embarrassed to admit it! Though more recently I’ve come to meet some amazing South Africans who are all so easy going and have told me so much about it, so I would would probably think of the incredible culture and people first now. </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">2.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Tell us a bit more about who Corderory is on a non-musical front and if there’s a story behind using your last name as your “music” name?  </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> I’m generally pretty focused, know where I’m heading and don’t put up with fools easily. However as a person I’m easy going and love to laugh at life. Using my second name as the artist came sort of naturally, when I started putting out music I started coming up with all these crazy names and none of them seemed to work, then someone said to me ‘hey, why don’t you just use Corderoy, that’s pretty unique’. And that was it, done!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">3.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Growing up we all have aspirations, was your aspiration to always be in music and specifically EDM? I started out playing in bands, my roots are in live music and I still love to work in that sort of environment.</div> <br /> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">4.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Your recent release Kerosene is signed to Paul Oakenfold’s label Perfecto, Can you describe, briefly what inspired this track? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Paul had been heavily supporting a few of my previous tracks and when it came to Kerosene it was a natural progression to give him the song first, he instantly loved it and signed it straight away. The ideas behind the track came about with two of the most talented people in the music industry, Richard Kayven and Tim Brownlow.  The rest, as you say, is history! </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">5.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>The Gai Barone remix is just insane, how did you decide on Gai to remix the track? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Gai was suggested by Perfecto, we really liked what he was doing and thought it would be the perfect marriage if we got him to do a remix. The result was even better than we expected!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">6.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Being signed to Perfecto is kinda a big deal, what went through your head when you heard they wanted to sign your track? And what does it mean to you being signed to Perfecto? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Naturally it’s an honour being on such a prestigious label; during the late 90s Perfecto became one of the biggest labels on the planet and still is to this day! Paul Oakenfold has always been a member of the music scene that I have huge sense of regard for, him backing me and being really into what I’m doing is nothing short of amazing. He’s a top bloke and I’m thankful to be working with him.</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;"><br /></span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">7.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Out of all the tracks you have produced which one stands out the most for you in terms of being your favourite or having the most meaning?</span></b> </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Probably a song that’s due to come out later this year called ‘No Bounds’. It’s a little different from the norm as you’ll see when you hear it. San Antonio in Ibiza, purely due its history and the fact that even today, it’s still the heart of the dance scene. Las Vegas, I’m yet to go there but quite a bit of my music is crazy enough to suit the city that never sleeps!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">9.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Nowadays, every track seems to sound the same, or is a rip off of another track; do you prefer originality over conformity, even if it won't make you as much money? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Originality all the way! Sometimes it’s hard not to be influenced by another song, that’s healthy and has happened for years. However there are always people out there that are not very talented or out of ideas and just jump on the ‘What’s hot right now’ band wagon and often saturate the market to extent where it loses its appeal and people switch off. </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">10.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>What’s your favourite and least favourite thing about producing and what’s your favourite and least favourite thing about DJing? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> I really enjoy the ideas process of writing and love the feeling of finally getting the sound I’m after when producing a track to the finished article. Though sometimes the hours and hours of tweaking and mixing get a little tiresome now and again, but that’s all part of the process I guess! I don’t really dislike anything about DJing, it’s an honour to be invited to play my music and engage with some of the most amazing like minded people, I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of that!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">11.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>Do you have any pre gig rituals before you take to the decks, how do you go about planning your sets? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> I don’t really have any pre gig rituals though nerves do kick in bit just before I go on. It’s more excitement but I want to give the crowd the most amazing experience so I guess I’m just putting a little pressure on myself to deliver that for them to the best of my ability. I like to have a rough idea of what I’m going to do and tracks I would like to play but it’s very loose as the crowd is the most significant factor as they dictate what direction I take with the set. It’s all about entertaining and engaging with them, that’s the most important thing for me!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">12.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>You are given the opportunity to act in any movie as any actor what movie would you would want to act in, which character and why? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Probably Marty Mc Fly in Back To The Future, purely due to the fact that I’d love to drive the Delorean and mess about with the flux capacitor!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">13.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>With Valentine’s Day around the corner who would you like to be your valentine? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Sounds a bit unromantic but I think Valentines is marketing hype gone into overdrive. It kind of puts pressure on people and I feel sorry for those who don’t have anyone as they kind of get left out and made to feel bad about not having someone to share the day with.  I reckon you should express how you feel all year round not just on one day ;) That being said wouldn’t turn down an evening out with Nicole Scherzinger!</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <b><span style="color: #f1c232;">14.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"> </span>What is one of your favourite songs to sing out loud in the shower? </span></b></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> I try to avoid doing this as much as possible, been caught out a few times!
