Postponed | Future Fusion Festival 2015
24th, 25th and 26th April 2015
Vereeniging, South of Johannesburg, South Africa
Important Notice of Postponement of Future Fusion Festival
"It is with great regret that we have to notify you of the unfortunate postponement of FFF. We could sit here and make up stories on why it could not go ahead at this stage but, we would instead, against the advice of many, tell you the truth and not blame it on anyone.
Everyone working on FFF was absolutely world class and every single entity, sponsor and investor have been nothing but special and truly supportive.
We have started this dream with a basic idea, to create a festival that works on an international concept that would cater for those looking to experience a slightly more contemporary line-up and be packed full of entertainment options. A 3 day adventure on a safari resort with the best locals and international artist sharing the stage.
We have worked hard and long on getting this concept to a stage where we could start with the actual
planning. The most important part of doing an event such as this is always, firstly doing market research and secondly securing funding. We completely underestimated the popularity and the pull a line-up like ours would have in South Africa. We wanted to do something completely unique and add the cream of the crop of international underground acts. We got great industry response but we relied too much on the current industry's reactions. We didn't take into account the general publics response which is not necessarily familiar with these acts yet. We didn't want to create a festival that is too commercial and thus we knew we would only cater to a niche crowd. But we underestimated the size of this niche also.
With funding coming from many different sources, we believed we have enough for the festival to be launched. We did rely somewhat on a certain amount of ticket sales also. About 3 months in we lost a big investor due to personal reasons and this really set us back a bit. We were concerned but we had options which we believed would carry us through. Some options came through and others didn't. We believed in our concept and our line-up and pushed on, relying slightly more on sales. Due to the current economical climate in SA and also the financial strains, which has pushed many events into submission, and lastly the "experimental" line-up as well as the current ticket sales situation, it left us with no choice but to postpone the event. We never gave up, every time we thought that we couldn't go ahead, we received another potential option. We had a potential option as late as this morning. Unfortunately finding investors for new concepts and ideas is a very hard sell, so we were forced to submit to the forces working against us and looked at a potential future date to continue the dream. We have confirmed with many involved to postpone their performances also.
So here we are. I would like to personally thank every single person who spent so many hours on this project so far, everyone who supported us from the start, all the amazing local and international agents and artists who gave us the opportunity and stuck with us till now, all the companies and individuals who did the marketing, logistics, technical, security and everyone behind the scenes, Tlokwe City Council, SAPS and of course all the fans.
With this in mind we would like to also offer everyone who already booked their adventure a refund on their tickets or accommodation package bought through us. Those coming from far that have already booked travel, please also get in touch by contacting us throughinfo@futurefusionfest.com. We do however offer you all a great opportunity with the option to keep your current ticket for the event for the new date plus offer an upgrade of your ticket to VIP + Backstage passes, free accommodation, hampers from the sponsors and up to R150 bar spend at the event.
We understand the frustration and disappointment of everyone that made made plans to come and experience the inaugural Future Fusion Festival but please know that we have done absolutely everything in our power to make this event go ahead and that we used all the possible resources available at this stage. We have applied for a national grant which is looking good and have new options to ensure we have enough funds for the event in the summer time later this year.
Please also direct every query or concern you may have to info@futurefusionfest.com and we will get back to everyone as soon as possible."
With the deepest sincerity,
Rick

Future Fusion Festival - #FFFestival - is a three day electronic music festival hosting one of the biggest contemporary line-ups in this part of Africa.
It aims to fuse the most inspiring, genuine and forward thinking electronic artists from past, present and future with a touch of speculative goodness to please even the pickiest of ears.
The Inaugural festival dons a 'Futuristic Safari' theme and is held over seven carefully constructed stages and arenas to provide a multi-sensory experience presenting over 60 international and local artists. These include a slew of first time performances in Africa.
One of the biggest names to be announced is Detroit techno pioneer Carl Craig, who runs the seminal Planet E label and has released too many amazing EPs and LPs to be mentioned. He has also put out some of the most classic remixes of the dance genre and has mixed it up for fabric whilst headlining every major club and festival going, both as a DJ and live act. His soulful and futuristic sound is in a class of one.
Dennis Ferrer is of similar importance to the house genre. As chief of the Objectivity label he has nurtured a go to outlet for the finest club sounds of the day from himself, as well as young guns like The Martinez Brothers. He has also released with Jerome Sydenham on Ibadan Records, and Defected and has a unique tech and soul sound that own dance floors over the world. Joining these two big names will be stars from Hot Creations and Noir Records including like Lee Foss and Coyu, Innervisions pair Ame and Henrik Schwarz, Mathew Dekay and Miguel Campbell and many more besides.
8000 of Africa’s electronic enthusiasts will have three days to experience this outright boastful production featuring large main stages, big top tents, a sunken round dam arena, an old sleeping hall- we mean warehouse- the backyard BBQ, a forest arena for all the bush babies and the smallest nightclub in Africa right on site.
The scenic location will offer patrons the option of three natural dams, a paintball area, Urban Arts, exquisite cuisine and gourmet foods, Safaris, morning Helicopter rides, an outdoor cinema, VIP Pool parties, party Boma areas and a variety of accommodation options.
Here’s a selection of our idyllic stage concepts:
Impala Fields Main Stage
Thatched Roof Warehouse
Green Green Grass Arena
Bass Barn
All Stars Big Top
Backyard BBQ
Round - The Dam Arena
Lakeside Urban Arts & Chill Village
Hungry Town - Gourmet cuisines and food stalls
These appetising options would be nothing without the real reason many of South African’s will flock to Future FusionFestival on April 24th, 25th and 26th 2015. The festival is partner to a jaw dropping line up of record labels such as Just Move Records, NomadiQ Music and Do it Now Recordings along with partners that have spoiled the country’s dance floors for decades. The artists are a carefully selected legacy to the global underground and house music movement, both past, present and future.
The festival is held in Rietfontein, a mountainous setting, on Manzini wild life resort just 18km from Potchefstroom towards Vereeniging, just south of Johannesburg.
"Together at, FFF HQ, we worked day and night, hand selecting artists and brands for the line-up and to create the most innovative and daring production setups.
"The stage designs and entertainment options are in a scenic setting that is both wild and breathtakingly beautiful.
"We want nothing more than to provide you with a truly memorable festival experience with an eccentric focus on the sound quality and music," said Rickhard Hein, Director of BreatheOut Entertainment, the company spearheading FFF.
Our decade has seen a monumental boom in electronic music and South Africa is currently at its core. The sub Saharan cradle of humankind is now under a global spotlight for its catapulting electronic and house music culture.
