Speaking Trance With Manuel Le Saux
After playing his debut gig in South Africa we thought it only be right to catch up with Manuel Le Saux and find out about his experience.
Hello, Manuel for taking time out to do this
interview with us . Its such a huge pleasure: )
How
are you doing today and what’s your choice of drink?
Hello
guys, thank you for this interview. I’m doing great as always.
My
choice of drink: redbull!
1. To start of can you tell us a little about who you are
on a non-musical front?
I
am just a man like others. I have my own private life, my job, my friends. I
like spending time with my friends and have fun with them. As you know I am
also a fan of football and videogames.
2. Just recently you made your debut appearance in South
Africa. What was the experience like for you?
Playing
for the first time in a country where you’ve never been before it’s always
unique and exciting. So I came back home with good memories and I hope to come
back again to SA.
3. We hear the gig was absolutely insane, what blew you
away about the South African crowd?
It
was amazed that they danced my music till dawn without stopping.
4. What was one lowlight of your time here in South Africa?
I
was sad to leave because there I have found some new friends.
5.
Your
tour in South Africa was to launch your compilation album Extrema Global. What's the initial feedback been
like on it?
I
didn’t expect so much appreciation from the people worldwide. It really
surprised me.
6. The album is one that deserves a place in every trance
fans record collection. If you had to promote the album with one song featured
on the album which track would it be and why.
Surely “Bushido”. I created this
track putting a lot of my energy and it is going to be the first track of my
next album.
7. It’s not easy mixing a compilation album, what are
some of the challenges you faced while mixing Extrema Global?
Mixing
a compilation is always a challenge. Just think that you have 15 tracks to put
together in 74 minutes and you have to mix the best part of these tracks
cutting less possible.
8. What advice do you have for people who are Afraid of
138?
People “afraid of 138” perhaps are
not brave enough ;-) ….just kidding
9.
There’s been a lot of
talk about the trance scene and the crowds. From the perspective of a Trance DJ,
what would you say makes trance different from others in the electronic
category in terms of the scene, events and crowd?
Trance music has experienced moments of ups and downs cause the
influences of other genres and some people has misunderstood the real aspect of
trance music. Trance music is unique in his genre. The scene and the events are
always full of good vibes and the crowd expect a lot from a Trance DJ. If you
are a trance lover you expect goosebumps, melodies, energy and many other
feelings that only trance music can give you.
10. We hear you are currently working on a new artist album, what can we
expect from the album?
I’ll do my best to create another success,
another “trance journey”. My fans expect a lot from me so I don’t want to
disappoint them.
11. With such a busy travelling schedule how do you schedule in studio
time and time to work on your artist
album?
My schedule is really tight so, even though
sometimes I am very tired, I must find time for working on my new album. It’s
my next goal so all my efforts are for it.
12. Is there a release date planned for the album?
Not yet
13. It’s currently DJ Mag Top 100 time, what are your views on the poll?
I stopped to look at this poll. Seems like
“who pays the most, surely wins!”
14. With everyone changing their style do you ever see yourself changing
your style?
Never! but recently I appreciate some techno sounds.
15. We are always on the look out for new talent, who are some producers/DJ
who have blown you away lately.
Darren Porter and Lostly
16. Do you have any last messages for your fans?
My message is: I am deeply grateful to my
fans and to all the people behind the scene that still believe in me! Their
support and faith in my hard work gives me the strength to go on. Make my fans happy
during my live sets is the most important success for me!
