Seed Experiences partners with Bridges for Music in a continued commitment to further develop the South African music landscape and announces the Charity Complementary Initiative.
Renowned as an industry leader and innovator, Seed Experiences is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with non-profit musical charity Bridges for Music.
Seed Experiences has committed to partnering with Bridges for Music for the next twelve months across all Seed events as it looks to solidify the relationship between the two companies. To kick-start this, Seed Experiences plans to raise substantial funds through various means – one being the launch of its “Charity Complimentary Contributions Initiative”.
The initiative means all complimentary tickets will now be charged at a percentage of the actual ticket price across various ticket types and all of these funds will go straight to Bridges for Music. This will begin with Seed’s upcoming annual properties Rocking the Daisies and Vodacom In The City.
Initially, the funds will assist Bridges for Music to build a music school in Langa Township in the Western Cape. The school will add further weight to an already robust educational program that includes a scholarship program with SAE Institute, which has seen 12 young artists attend short courses – and the launch of an annual one-year Higher Certificate in Sound Production scholarship in partnership with the Black Coffee Foundation.
To date the bulk of the fundraising has been driven by the internationally renowned Resident Advisor platform, and has seen support from many high-profile artists across the planet helping raise over 70,000 euros so far.
“As a responsible promoter it is impossible to ignore the importance of developing the future potential of the South African music scene,” says Brian Little, Seed Experiences. Managing Director.
“Partnering with Seed Experiences is an exciting next step in our evolution and it is encouraging to see such a well-established and respected promoter making a real tangible commitment to making a difference to disadvantaged communities through music,” says Trenton Birch, Bridges for Music Africa Director.
Brian adds: “We are very excited about this initiative. While we will be rolling out further fund-raising initiatives that will include donations, sponsor campaigns and workshops, what this does is educate the wider music community and involve them in the process of upliftment and education through music. The people who generally receive comps to our music events are fans and people who can afford to pay the full ticket price. So paying a small amount, knowing that it is contributing to this great cause, which is directly related to music and growing the industry in South Africa, should be met with enthusiasm.”
A complimentary ticket for Vodacom In The City will be R100; the normal ticket price is R450.
Seed Experiences will be implementing this fundraising initiative across all upcoming events and are looking forward to the substantial amount of funding that will be raised through this over the next 12 months. After this time, all figures raised for Bridges for Music will be released to the public as part of a case study.
Seed Experiences is the award-winning agency behind annual festivals Rocking the Daisies and Vodacom in the City, Sonar Cape Town, The Lumineers SA Tour and many more.
