With the world still reeling from the aftershock of  Gesaffelstein’s  ‘Aleph’ fellow Frenchmen, Alesia, have released their ‘Andrea’ EP on the Skrillex-headed OWSLA Label. The dark and brooding opener ‘Dies Irae’ instantly draws comparisons to Gesaffelstein’s hard, lightless aesthetic. As the EP progresses though, it becomes apparent that this is a far more accessible iteration of that token sound, leaning more towards the danceable techno of Boys Noize. ‘Jezabel’ and ‘Industriae’ steal the show as far more colourful, dance-ready tracks than the almost all black, minimalist EP artwork would initially suggest.
