Everyone's New Favorite Genre Qgom
Spoek Mathambo - Qgom Revolution Mix For Thump
Spoek Mathambo wraps up his and Lebogang Rasethaba's three-part documentary about South African electronic music, Future Sound of Mzansi with a 38-minute Qgom mix for Thump. If you haven't heard the term Qgom or heard a Qgom track our question to you is, where have you been? Qgom is the electronic genre that has taken the world by storm and loosely translated Qgom means "banging". It is a sub-genre of South African house coming out of South Africa's golden playground, Durban. The genre is built around drum-heavy sounds, broken beats and is heavily influenced by raw sounds unique to South Africa. With the likes of labels such as Goon Club Allstars supporting Qgom trio, Rudeboyz this genre South African genre is about to blow up. We can assure you Qgom is going to be a genre that is mentioned in musical history for years to come.
Check out Spoek Mathambo mix and let us know what you think of it.
