SPACE IBIZA 25 ANNIVERSARY JOHANNESBURG RECAP
SPACE IBIZA 25 ANNIVERSARY TOUR DELIVERS EPIC DANCE EVENT TO JOBURG FANS
Presented by Huawei Culture Club, Red Square Drinks
and G&G Productions - with DStv and 947
Space Ibiza is known around the globe for creating some of the world’s best music and parties – and the Johannesburg leg of its 25 Anniversary Tour was no different.
Joburg dance music fans came out in their thousands to Newtown Block Party, Carfax to party it up with the powerhouse international and local DJ’s across three dance floors. From the minute the doors opened there wasn’t a moment of silence as the 21-strong line-up unleashed non-stop beats and pulsing sounds that electrified the crowd from beginning to end.
The eclectic range of music and entertainment ensured people were kept bouncing and jumping from day to night. “If you weren't at Space Ibiza last night I feel sorry for you. It was INSANE!” wrote one fan on Twitter. Another tweeted “I felt like I was in Ibiza for 14 hours!” while others posted selfies with international DJ’s Chuckie and Borgore as they worked the crowd.
The DJ’s brought it all: a mash-up of sounds that ranged from progressive tech and drum and bass to dubstep, deep house and deep tech, while Mr Dirty Dutch himself Chuckie delivered a power set. “We want more! We want more!” screamed the crowd. And they got more! Chuckie extended his set to meet demand from his fans with a highlight being an on-stage collaboration with GLOWINTHEDARK. Other internationals who performed on the main stage included Felix Cartal, CONGOROCK, Trevor Guthrie, Danny Marquez, Gelab, WolfPack, Yves V and Borgore with local support from Vin D, Pascal & Pearce and Dean Fuel.
The indoor Terrace floor hosted internationals Wankelmut, Prok & Fitch and NEW_ID, with local talent Alex Dalais, Kyle Cassim, Ryan Dent, Dean Fuel, Kyle Watson and Crazy White Boy.
Party-goers were also the first to experience the launch of Huawei Culture Club - a digital and physical hub of news, information, tickets, concerts, DJs and content. There is much more to come from this exciting platform, where some of the hottest events in South Africa will be born and executed. Find out more by visiting http://www.huaweicultureclub. co.za/ or Huawei Device SA on Facebook and @HuaweiZA on Twitter.
The 13 international DJ’s now jetted off to Durban to perform at G&G Productions’ Rage Festival where over 15,000 fans awaited them.
