With deep-house having arguably becoming South Africa's most popular urban music genre, it was
only a matter of time before we'd start hearing more left-field abstractions by producers interested
in exploring a broader perspective of the genre's staple elements.
Jazzuelle is just such an artist, whose own take on deep-house is inflected with equal amounts of narcotic electronica and heavy jazz as it is with soul and groove.
Jazzuelle is the South African electronic music producer/dj, born in 14 February 1989 in Cape Town, South Africa, living in Johannesburg, where he started the independent record label Cityscope Recordings in 2010 has come a long way from his humble beginnings in Cape Town to being welcomed by the Red Bull Music Academy & Signing on Germany’s Foliage Records After a few years of numerous stints in Cape Town and after several features, singles and a self released EP Under Cityscope Recordings, Thando Tshoma has gained his own fan-base and his first official EP on the revered Foliage Records “Archaic Rapture EP” which was released in 2014 & featured on the Traxsource.com WMC Miami Hype Chart for weeks.
Jazzuelle was also picked up by the esteemed Red Bull Studios In 2013 which consequently led him to play a part in the renowned Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp which was held in Johannesburg’s Alex Theatre boasting 30 of the most talented, forward-thinking artists in South Africa like Okmalumkoolkat, Casper Nyovest, Fever Trails, Shane Cooper, Applesawc, Shimza,
Moonchild, Eve Rakow, Hlasko & more, subsequent to this Jazzuelle has headlined popular events
such as RBMA Nights, Red Bull Live Parties, Junta Movement Rooftop Parties to sharing centre stage with a variation of artists like Black Coffee, Satori, Vinny Da Vinci, AppleSawc , C9ine, Trancemicsoul, Richard The Third, Kat LA Kat & more Jazzuelle has also been featured on releases with the likes of Rocco, Black Coffee, G-Family, Raw Artistic Soul, Kisk, Trentemoller, Ndinga Gaba, Enawadan, Ron Trent, Charles Webster Enawadan to name a few. In 2014 Jazzuelle is one of the most sought after rising deep house names in South Africa, boasting upcoming releases for well-regarded artists like Ananda Project, Ursuler Rucker, Vinny Da Vinci and signing on Amsterdam’s Phat Elephant, Berlin’s Foliage Records & London’s Private London Records
