After months of anticipation, Corderoy’s underground sizzler has finally surfaced revealing the true meaning behind the term ‘Dark Disco’
With support from Tiesto, Sick Individuals, Ferry Corsten, Micky Slim,GlazerSound and Bart Claessen, Dark Disco was designed for only the sweatiest and most claustrophobic dance floors, and with this, the latest release on his fledglingCDRY imprint, Corderoy has taken a risk and strayed into decidedly uncharted territory.
From the very beginning, Dark Disco sounds both new and familiar with a sound that takes influences from across the board including electro, tech, and house, more than just a gentle nod to the dark breakbeat sounds of the early 2000s. Throw into the mix one of the gnarliest basslines heard in quite some time, and rather than argue about what genre Corderoy has embraced on this release, it’s probably easier to coin a new term altogether – Dark Disco.
Genres aside, Dark Disco has been causing quite a stir underground for a couple of months now and hit #12 on the DMC Buzz Chart before a preview was even released. Industry heavyweights like Paul Oakenfold and Avicii have been backingCorderoy from the very beginning and it’s easy to see why – Dark Disco is an original and pioneering progression in sound from one of this generation’s most exciting talents.
