Rusko has not simply returned to the scene, he’s created a new one. Since dropping ‘Sunshower’ – the first single to be taken from the EP – at the beginning of the month, the bass boss has been gradually teasing tracks, garnering support from music authorities such as Rolling Stone, Mixmag, This Song Is Sick and Dancing Astronaut as he goes.

 

Talking about his new sound, Rusko told UKF:

 

“It’s the first time I’ve sat down to write music that isn’t to DJ or to send to other DJs. There are no remixes, there are no guest vocals, no radio tracks, no collaborations. It’s straight up music within tempos that I have never used before.”

 

On “!” Rusko demonstrates the musical diversity that has seen him remain at the top of his game throughout his illustrious career, creating a five-track genre-less sound exploration that is set to turn the world of bass on its head. Whether it’s the tropical trap tinged ‘Sunshower’, filthy funk of Drum n Bass banger ‘Like A Boss’, future bass cut ‘Happy Chords’, the ass-grinding ‘My Style’ or embarking on a video-game inspired trip for finale ‘Rusko’s Theme’, with “!” the prolific producer has ensured an explosive homecoming.
