Guru Josh in 'My Burning Bush ' ( Guru Josh Mix )
Guru Josh is back with a vengeance, with this latest offering entitled “MY BURNING BUSH”
Today is the day! The legend that is Guru Josh is back with a vengeance, with this latest offering entitled “MY BURNING BUSH” and true to style, Mr Josh has well and truly stepped out of the proverbial box to bring us something that is original and will stick in your mind for a long time once you have listened to it.
Guru Josh needs no introduction. He is the man responsible for the legendary “Infinity” which has seen three outings – Infinity 1990, Infinity 2008 and Infinity 2012 - with the wonderful use of the signature saxophone, which is synonymous with this iconic tune. There was a time in the late naughties that you couldn’t turn on the radio, TV, step into a bar or a club, or buy a commercial dance compilation without hearing it. So it isn’t surprising that it has notched up 1.4 BILLION YouTube hits and 12 million in official sales, making it the biggest selling dance tune in history.
Josh has used a stroke of genius by cleverly enlisted the help of a Hollywood A Lister – and I don’t make that statement lightly. With a voice like “God” he reels off a re-written “modernized” version of the Ezekiel 25:17 monologue as made famous by Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction.
Now depending on your tastes and preferences, you have a bounty of options, all high tempo, catchy and with a twist - The original three mixes (Edit, Extended Radio Edit and EDM Mix) are being released on Lose It Records, exclusively on Beatport today (July 28th). Additionally, a remix package comes to us in the next few weeks. A plethora of talent has stepped up to endorse the track and give us their own take including Stereojackers Vs Mark Loverush, Wickaman, Super Stylers, Andrew Carra, Electronic Youth and David Noakes. You WILL have an opinion on this. For sure, it’s Marmite. For me, I’m just glad Josh is back with his unique style and take on life. Welcome back GJ – it’s great to see you
