'Toolroom Ibiza 2014' Review
'Toolroom Ibiza 2014' welcomes you to an unmissable season of House music. Showcasing an unmistakable selection of Toolroom approved grooves that perfectly encapsulate the sound of the White Isle.
Take
one look at the tracklist it will have jaw on the ground.
Melodies,
soulful deep vocals and a whole lot of groove Toolroom Ibiza 2014 has all of
that. I’ve sat here trying to put what
this album makes me feel in words and to be honest I can’t find the words. Why
because I don’t think my words will do justice to this compilation.
Disc one
Poolside is the perfect soundtrack for the lazy summer days at the pool. Of
course due to my OCD tendencies I had to start with disc one and it might have
been a bad idea because for 2 days straight it was on repeat. The selection of
tunes are selected perfectly. While listening to disc one I was reminded of a waterfall,
each track cascades perfectly into the next track, with each “drop” getting
better. It's filled with gems from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Tough Love, Bontan, Nolan and more. Hard for me to select a favourite track of the disc. The disc will leave you feeling
at peace, calm with a urge to go out and party up a storm and Disc 2 is perfect
to satisfy that feeling jam packed with tracks from Route 94, Lancelot, Prok &
Fitch and Doorly. This disc features tracks which are a bit more upbeat and vibey as opposed to the laidback
nature of disc one. It will surely have you dancing up a storm whether it is in
your bedroom, living room or car. A personal favorite of disc 2 would have to
be My Digital Enemy’s Self inflicted, a track fit for summer with it’s melodic
synths and gentle drum beat. Disc 3 is unquestionably the recovery disc after all
the heavy dancing. It’s filled with tasty slices of tech heaven which oozes just
the perfect amount of deep and dark. Take a listen and you will find nuggets of wonder from Josh Wink, Him_Self_Her, Wehbba and Catz 'n Dogz.
Overall a
wicked compilation perfect to listen to when making memories and reminiscing on
memories too!
