Gareth Emery feat. Asia Whiteacre - Million Years
Hi guys Ed Layla here…So we decided to do something different for Gareth Emery’s Drive album release, anyone who is everyone knows that Yas and I absolutely adore Emery and to say that we have been patiently waiting for this album would be yeah a little bit of an understatement. We both love how music can transport you on a journey and in order to celebrate this album we are not doing a typical listen and review we are going to write a little story or a picture for each track….
The first track we’ve chosen to do is Million years feat Asia Whiteacre
I just absolutely love the mix melody and vocals to this track and listening to this track I just can’t help but wonder…what life was like pre technology smartphones, social media/networks and internet!
So like here’s the thing… imagine meeting someone for the first time, chance encounter and boom it’s like something magical happens inside of you… You don’t realise this until after you part ways…and all you want to do is just see them again or speak to them again…but how? I mean it’s obvious now you hit up the www.Google.com or Facebook or Twitter or one of the many other possible places that you hope and pray they have a profile on…. A little bit of research and yes away to make contact… Simple enough right!
So maybe it is kind of a weird way of describing what this “nostalgic but magical at the same time” track makes me think about but hey music speaks to everyone differently and for me this is definitely about creating your own destiny rather than waiting for things to happen! Oh and this is totally based on a true story too J:) Let’s hear what our darling co ed. Yas has to say about the track…
That is Layla’s rendition from my end it makes me feel the same except we have all had that lost love or losing someone who has meant the world to you. We have all shared stolen moments with a random stranger which leave you walking away wanting to know more. A single glance, a moment of eyes connecting which stays with you forever and has you wondering what if. A simple hello is all it takes to have your heart beating at 170.
Some people whether you know them or not just have such an effect on you that they consume your mind and your thoughts. It’s as if knowing them doesn’t really matter and you would do anything for them. You’d wait a million years for them not knowing anything about them.. Like Layla said it comes down to believing and having faith, fate takes you to where you need to be and everything happens for a reason.. It’s a surreal feeling to think we don’t pick who to like and who to fall for. I’ve been asked in the past why do you like me and my answer is a constant I don’t know. So why do we just like some people? Why do some people who you know nothing about consume your every thought? Guess we just need to live and let be and if need be wait a million years to know the reason…
