BEATENBERG to support Thirty Seconds to Mars - SA Tour
Big Concerts is proud to announce that Beatenberg will be supporting Thirty Seconds to Mars when they tour South Africa for 2 concerts on Friday 13thJune at the Grand Arena, Cape Town and Monday 16th June at the Coca-Cola Dome, Johannesburg. Presented by M-Net.

Beatenberg are South Africa’s new face of pop, comprising Matthew Field (Vocals/Guitar), Ross Dorkin (Bass) and Robin Brink (Drums). Songwriter Matthew says their music is about ‘emotions, images and fleeting senses of things: the mad stuff that everyone feels and almost understands’. Combined with extensive gigging and touring throughout 2013 – including performances at all of South Africa’s top music festivals - the name Beatenberg fast became familiar when the country started asking ‘Who is Chelsea Blakemore?’ after the release of their debut single in late 2013.. The collobration between Beatenberg and DJ Clock ‘Pluto (Remember You) has grown to be the biggest smash hit of the summer reaching number one across the country and holding this position for over 7 weeks, including the top spots on 5FM, Highveld, KFM, YFM and Metro FM as well as charting in the top 3 iTunes singles.
Thirty Seconds to Mars have gone on to scale the heights of rock and roll stardom and are known for their energetic live performances and their fusion of different genres. Although they found modest success with their self-titled debut, it was their second album, ‘A Beautiful Lie,’ which announced them as bonafide rock and roll superstars. The band’s third album, ‘This is War,’ released in 2009 garnered them another three top ten singles, the first two of which peaked at the number 1 spot on the US Alternative Songs chart. Additionally, ‘Closer to the Edge’ was the fastest selling rock single in the UK and topped the UK rock chart for eight consecutive weeks. The subsequent tour set a ‘Guinness World Record for the longest concert tour by a rock band’ and helped to establish Thirty Seconds to Mars’ reputation as one of the hardest working rock bands.
Coming off the back of an outstanding European festival circuit and some scintillating performances, this is one band that you do not want to miss.
