Congorock & Nom De Strip – Minerals (Original Mix)
To many a collaborative effort by Congorock and Nom De Strip would've seemed inevitable. Both known for churning out hard-hitting bangers strung together by a somewhat abstract element that harks back to the style pioneered by fellow Italian producer, Crookers. Riding on the success of recent remixes of Rihanna and Deadmau5 respectively, the pair has approached this collaboration with a sense of clarity, sights evidently set on dance floor destruction. Expect no fancy flourishes or uplifting, trance’esque breakdowns. ‘Minerals’ could have easily fallen into the path of being an overproduced festival banger, but instead trades the standard formula for a surprisingly stripped down production, drawing focus to an utterly filthy synth that gets trapped right under your finger nails. It’s a hot and sticky affair with enough punch to level any festival stage while retaining enough of an earthiness to rattle the plumbing in any intimate club. Expect It to be on heavy rotation in main stage sets and podcasts throughout the coming months. ‘Minerals’ is out now on Ultra Music.
