Being Sydney Blu Episode 5 - Groove Cruise LA

Back with Episode 5 of her documentary series produced by Black Hole Recordings, Sydney Blu invites us on The Groove Cruise LA to get a behind-the-scenes look at this legendary floating festival. As the ship sets sail from Los Angeles to Mexico on its 9th anniversary voyage, over 2000 fans joined renowned DJs like Fedde Le Grand, Markus Schulz, LA Riots, Morgan Page, Funkagenda and many more for four days of partying on the open sea.
Since 2010, Sydney has been a part of the Groove Cruise experience and has seen it grow from an unknown party to one that sells out year after year, even before the lineup is announced. Funkagenda reminisces about their early days of playing tech house together with friend Exacta, who introduced the two, and how the three remain close after many years. Chris Lake makes an appearance, discussing how he and Sydney got involved with Groove Cruise and the part Rising Music has played in their careers. We also hear from Groove Cruise talent buyer Ryan Fitzpatrick, Sydney's old friend from her Miami days, about sharing cars and promoting unknown music.
The highlight of the Groove Cruise LA for Sydney comes when she takes her tech house sound to the main room for Funkfarm and gets the crowd moving with her latest hit, "Who Gives A !$*%."
Sydney will set sail on the 10th Anniversary voyage of The Groove Cruise Miami in January 2014, but alas, the ship is already sold out. See you again soon for Episode 6!
