Evan Ønly Premieres "No Matter What" via Pitchfork, Debut EP Out in Early 2014 via Underwater Peoples

We'd like to invite you to experience the first song (and title track) from Evan Ønly's debut EP, No Matter What, which will see a release in early 2k14 via Underwater Peoples. Pitchfork premiered “No Matter What” earlier, and the track is now available as a via Soundcloud. No Matter What is a highly-evolved pop record with human progress in its sights and soulful electro-pop as its means. Produced by Ice Choir's Kurt Feldman, Evan Ønly's musical material draws inspiration from the classic "future vintage" synth pop he learned about through his archival explorations -- British pioneers such as Pet Shop Boys, La Roux, and David Bowie's "Let's Dance" -- as well his own experiences.
Like the British avant-pop artists who infused classic tunes with a social awareness, Ønly creates music in the belief that pop can still change the way you see yourself and the world. We've all got something on our mind; No Matter What gives you the keys to find out where it leads.
