Colour Me Crazy South Africa

In recent times the colour festival events have become quite popular in South Africa and when we heard about the Colour Me Crazy event which sounded a little different to the typical party we decided to check it out. The event was hosted at the Riversands Farm in Fourways on 21 September 2013. 

What makes Colour Me Crazy different you might be asking well, for starters the event is open to all ages and secondly apart from the music festival, the main feature is a 5km colour run. What could be fun about a run well, the fact that at the end of every km you passed through a colour throwing station-orange then yellow, then green then blue and lastly pink. 

Sooo, at the end you come out looking a kaleidoscope of colour ready to enjoy the massive party that awaited you. Once you completed the optional 5km run which you could do as many times as you wished  and you got to enjoy the massive music festival with food and drink, friends, family and tons of colour. The music festival featured a star studded line up of artist DJ Wags, Household Funk, Crazy White Boy, Mi Casa, Roger Goode, LCNVL and Dean Fuel. The colour festival continued with the music festival where crowds embarked on a colour throw every hour of the festival counted down by the MC Stephanie Be. We got to admit, there is something insanely epic in witnessing this as literally hundreds of people come together united with a mad energy all to throw coloured powder in the air without a care in the world. 

The only downside of the entire day was the weather, it was a tad bit chilly and the wind did generate a ton of dust from the ground and with the colour throws. However, this did not sway event attendees as we witnessed numbers of colour crazed people from young to old all having an absolute blast. We love the idea of getting active in a fun way and we got to hand to hand it to the organisers for putting together a wonderful day. Colour Me Crazy will be hitting Cape Town on 26 October 2013 and we definitely suggest you check it out.
