ESQUIRE PREMIERES THE DARCYS' OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR 'THE RIVER'

NEW ALBUM WARRING AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 17 ON ARTS & CRAFTS
PRE-ORDER NOW WITH EXCLUSIVE BUNDLES

The Darcys embody the recklessly bold artistic ambition that ruled rock music in the '70s but is significanlty harder to find today" - ESQUIRE

Today, The Darcys launch the stirring video for "The River" from their adventurous impending full-length Warring. "The River" is a simple, beautiful super slow motion work starring frontman Jason Couse and directed by Eric Johnson in one take using a Phantom Miro at 1700 frames per second.

Of the video, Johnson, who was just cast in the Steven Soderbergh and Clive Owen's new Cinemax series, The Knick, says:

"I wanted to capture a moment of emotion that normally is beyond our abilities of perception. For 'The River' that meant capturing the raw fear and emotion of falling blindly backwards. I also wanted to do this completely and authentically with the Camera and without special effects. By shooting at an incredibly high speed we were able to experience this moment of falling not in seconds but over the course of minutes. As for the reality of it all, we only did only one take and what you see is Jason's primal response to being pushed off a ledge backwards into dark water. Emotion and motion almost stopped in time."

Today, fans everywhere can pre-order Warring (http://www.galleryac.com/the-darcys-warring.html) and browse exclusive merchandise bundle options now via GalleryAC (http://www.galleryac.com/the-darcys-warring-bundle.html).

"Warring plays out like ice glistens and sparkles... its beauty is inherent." - Seattle's The Stranger

"A dense, challenging, monstrously tuneful prog rock epic." - The Toronto Star

"A dreamy, genre-bending adventure." - Death And Taxes

Listen to Warring's already released singles "The River" and "Muzzle Blast" which premiered via SPIN and A.V. Club respectively or at TheDarcys.ca.

The Darcys will be playing CMJ before extensive touring this Fall.
