Dinosaur Bones - New video, "Nothing Left Between The Lines" (album out August 6)
Toronto’s introspective indie-rock quintet Dinosaur Bones is gearing up for the release of their new album Shaky Dream digitally on August 6th, and the band shared the video for a third, previously unheard track, “Nothing Left Between The Lines,” last Friday. “Nothing Left Between The Lines” follows in the footsteps of the albums’ previous singles, “Spins In Circles” (stream) and “Sleepsick” (download). The bands’ combination of dark pop, bombastic hooks and flourishing rhythmic drone has garnered them critical praise worldwide, and the evolution of their sound is evidenced by the ten tracks that comprise Shaky Dream.
Thomas Azier - New single, "Ghostcity" (stream via soundcloud, or watch the 3D animated video)
Thomas Azier has opened up the gateway to "Ghostcity". The Berlin-based electro-pop auteur released his new single “Ghostcity” [stream] yesterday through Casablanca Records, along with the re-release of his debut EP’s, Hylas 001 (stream) and Hylas 002 (stream). The two EP’s and “Ghostcity” are a precursor to his debut full-length, the third installment in the Hylas trilogy, which will see a release in early 2014. On “Ghostcity”, the multi-instrumentalist, producer, and artist fashions a monumental melodic hook between propulsive synths, beats, and a flurry of futuristic electronics actually recorded in an abandoned Soviet factory. Mirroring the location's expansive and warm era of despair, it's an amalgam of shuddering dance sheen and artful pop bliss. Get ready to get lost in the dark, shadowy alleys of "Ghostcity".
Kavinsky - "OddLook" (The Weeknd remix)
Kavinsky released his long-awaited debut album OutRun in February, and now Casablanca is releasing the OddLook EP, which features remixes from The Weeknd, A-Trak and Surkin. The Weeknd's remix is now available to stream- it's a seductive re-imagination of the original, with The Weeknd adding a killer topline throughout the entire song. Give it a spin, you'll love it!
The Aston Shuffle - New single, "Can't Stop Now" (soundcloud), w/ remixes from Ta-ku and Special Features
The Aston Shuffle, Australia’s biggest DJ/producers, have attracted global attention for their versatile, forward-facing twist on peak-time indie electronic music. “Can’t Stop Now” is the first single from their forthcoming second album (out July 29 via Casablanca), and is set to be the hit that transforms their home grown success into international superstardom. The band recently shared a clip of the single, which you can stream/share here. They've also shared remixes from Ta-ku (stream) and Special Features (stream).
The Royal Concept - New video, "On Our Way" (stream)
The Royal Concept released their new summer-friendly single "On Our Way" on iTunes last month, and now the band has shared the music video for “On Our Way,” which you can check out on VEVO (it's also available to stream/share via soundcloud). Following up the incendiary "World On Fire," "On Our Way" builds from a kinetic groove into another anthemic refrain punctuated by sunny whistling, hand claps, and evocative synths. Keep an eye out for their debut album announcement, coming soon.
