DStv PRESENTS DELICIOUS – THE INTERNATIONAL FOOD & MUSIC FESTIVAL LAUNCHES IN SOUTH AFRICA
UK celebrity chefs to be joined by international superstar, Jamiroquai
Described as the music festival for food lovers or a food festival for music lovers; Delicious is set to take the South African entertainment and culinary world by storm in Johannesburg from 5 – 6 October 2013. With nothing else quite like it in South Africa- Delicious promises to give festival-goers something completely fresh and unique with the A list line-up performing on both the Saturday and Sunday.
Headlining the music is renowned international act Jamiroquai; who will be supported by a host of top South African artists namely; Lira, Danny K, Khuli Chana, Prime Circle and Mi Casa. With Jamiroquai’s signature mix of funk, jazz, disco and house and the combination of beautiful sunshine, rolling lawns, delicious food and wine - there will be no better vibe to be had in Johannesburg this year.
“Looking forward to returning to South Africa to see you all at Delicious”, said Jay Kay from Jamiroquai.
Amidst a fast growing trend of ‘foodies’ in SA - DStv shows such as MasterChef and Come Dine with
Me have become firm favourites with local viewers. Artisan food markets are now regular weekend outings and health conscious cooking is becoming increasingly popular.
“As DStv, we are proud to bring to life our extensive music offering through this partnership”, says Colleen Goodman, Senior Marketing Communications Manager for DStv.
The three international pop-up restaurants, San Carlo Cicchetti, Randall & Aubin and The John Burton Race Experience, will provide patrons with the opportunity to experience their fine cuisine first hand while enjoying live music from a raised vantage point overlooking the crowd. These restaurants will be taking bookings for lunch and dinner sittings daily; and with limited seats available, they are expected to sell out fast!
In addition to the pop-up restaurants, there will also be a huge artisan food market encompassing a vast array of African, European and pan-Asian cuisine. Many of these are already firm favourites for local market lovers.
Reservations for the VIP Hospitality Experience at the pop-up restaurants can be made for lunch and/or dinner at a cost of R1 850 per head, which includes VIP parking with concierge care, access to the VIP lounge, a welcome drink, three course meal in one of the three international restaurants of your choice, bottle of wine and coffee. General admission entry will cost R380.
Official beer partner Castle Milk Stout will set up a trendy and elegant area for festival-goers to appreciate the rich and smooth taste of the stout. "Partnering up with Delicious enables us to invite guests to simply savour the rich moments in life. As the official beer partner, we want to use this platform to provide festival-goers with the opportunity to indulge in rich moments over good food accompanied by good music whilst savouring a smooth Castle Milk Stout," says Vilashni Vandayar, Marketing Manager for Castle Milk Stout.
‘Its Personal’, the brand that provides artists with a respectable platform to showcase their “sound” will host a deep house tent for the rhythmic and soulful attendees that would like to get their groove on at the festival. ‘Its Personal’ pride themselves on not only a professional level of entertainment but production value as well, ensuring an experience worthy of your attendance.
Child-friendly areas hosted by “DStv Kids” will be available and will feature various activities for the young ones and will include brands such as Converse kids and Mille kids.
Delicious will open daily at 12pm and promises to be a fantastic and entertaining day out for the entire family.
Tickets are available through Computicket. Tickets are R380 per day with children under 12 R100 a day and children under 3 are free
