C O L O U R F E S T I V A L J O B U R G 2 0 1 3

1 International & 42 South African DJs | 3 Live Performers | 4 Stages!

We are COLOUR FESTIVAL! Any questions? :-)
‘Your challenge is to foster a nation in which all people, irrespective of race, colour, sex, religion or creed, can ascertain a social cohesion fully mindful of your own challenges, you must continue to promote the principle of relentless freedom…’

In the spirit of Madiba’s words, undoubtedly one of the one of the most powerful and liberating souls to grace this planet, we ‘Colourful Festival South Africa’ present ‘Colour Festival Joburg – The Womans Day Colour Celebration.’ A dance music festival that will embrace this vision.

'Colour Festival’ is an electronic dance music festival that incorporates the element of colour powders from the Indian colour powders combined with modern electronic dance music showcased by both international and local artists/DJs. This dance music festival hosts a true kaleidoscope of South African cultures.

We will celebrate and promote the diversity of Gauteng and indeed the city of Johannesburg by producing a dance music festival of international standards. The concept: Thousands of patrons, dressed in white, will come together to share in music, dance, performance art and visualizations, with a uniformed ‘colour-splash’ which will take place every hour.
After a minimum of 3 ‘colour-splashes’ the audience will be completely covered by the coloured powder, depicting a true ‘rainbow nation’ feel. At this point, race/colour cannot be determined and all those in attendance will come together as one. We view this festival as a true ‘nation building’ experience!

The paint will adhere better and it is easier to rinse off later. We also recommend a cap or hat.

#3: Wear Old Clothes

Although the powder can be easily washed out, you should not wear/bring your best clothes with you.

Tip: You could purchase an original white 'Colour Festival T-Shirts' available for both men and woman.

#4: WEAR WHITE CLOTHES

The colours bear out brightest on white fabric! We will have disposal white overalls on sale at the venue should you be interested in purchasing these.

#5: CONTACT LENS

If possible, rather wear glasses rather than contact lenses as the paint may cause irritation on the contacts.

#6: CLOSE YOUR EYES & KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED!

You will you pelted with coloured powder, so be sure to keep your eyes and mouth closed at these times.

# 7: RESPECT OTHERS!

If someone does not want to be pelted with powder, please respect their wishes. We would like everyone to enjoy themselves together.
